Fintiri Says 2023 Re-election Plot Was “One of Many” to Stop Him

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has described the attempt to prevent his re-election in 2023 as “just one of many plots” aimed at stopping his political journey.

Speaking at the public presentation of a book titled Fintiri – The Man They Could Not Stop on Monday, the governor reflected on the controversial 2023 poll, where his opponent was briefly declared winner before he was confirmed the authentic victor.

He labeled the episode “an embarrassing one for the state, the nation, and democracy globally,” citing “treachery, assault, and the moral compromise of a bankrupt elite.”

Despite the challenges, Fintiri said the incident ultimately strengthened his belief in the support of Adamawa people and reinforced his conviction that he is “a man of destiny.”

The book was reviewed by Catholic Bishop Mathew Kukah, who commended the author, Solomon Kumanga, for documenting the governor’s political resilience.
