First Lady Aisha Bala Mohammed Celebrates New Year with Bauchi Children, Vows Continued Support for Child Development

BAUCHI – The wife of Bauchi State Governor, Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed, on Sunday hosted the 2026 New Year Children’s Party at the Dr. Sulaiman Adamu Stadium, Government House, as part of efforts to usher in the year with joy and prayers for the younger generation.

In her address, Dr. Aisha stated that the annual event was organized to thank Almighty Allah for the gift of life and to celebrate children as vital to the state’s future.

“It is with great joy and a deep sense of gratitude that I warmly welcome you all to this year’s New Year Children’s Party. I am delighted to celebrate the beginning of the year 2026 with our wonderful children, parents, guardians, and invited guests,” she said.

She commended her husband, Governor Bala Mohammed, for his support of policies and programs aimed at improving the welfare, education, and wellbeing of women and children across the state.

Dr. Aisha also reaffirmed the commitment of the Office of the First Lady to initiatives that promote the protection and welfare of vulnerable women and children, adding, “We remain dedicated to creating opportunities that will enable our children to grow in a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment.”

The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, Dr. Lydia Haruna Tsanmani, represented by the Permanent Secretary Sale Mamman, praised the First Lady’s dedication and assured continued collaboration between the ministry and her office to positively impact women and children.

Highlights of the event included interfaith prayers by Muslim and Christian clerics, cultural dances, quiz competitions, and a debate on the importance of education, featuring arguments from Khadija Adamu on girls’ education and Abubakar Muhammad Munkaila on boys’ education.
