President Tinubu Directs Security Forces to Apprehend Perpetrators of Niger Market Massacre

ABUJA – President Bola Tinubu has ordered a full-scale manhunt for terrorists responsible for Sunday’s deadly attack at Kasuwan Daji market in Kabe District, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.

The assault claimed nearly 40 lives, with several others abducted by the assailants.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Bayo Onanuga, the President directed the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, service chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) to track down the attackers, rescue all kidnapped victims, and ensure swift justice.

President Tinubu declared:

“These terrorists have tested the resolve of our country and its people. They must, therefore, face the full consequences of their criminal actions. No matter who they are or what their intent is, they must be hunted down. They, and all those who aid, abet, or enable them in any form, will be caught and brought to justice.”

The attack underscores persistent security challenges in parts of North-Central Nigeria, despite ongoing military operations against armed groups in the region.

Security agencies have been mobilized to intensify search-and-rescue efforts and apprehend those behind the violence.
