…Rt. Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji Urges Constituents to Forge Ahead, Embrace Peace
Rt. Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, popularly known as IKUKU, has extended a heartfelt call for unity, forgiveness, and brotherly love to the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, emphasizing that power without humility becomes a burden to the people it was meant to serve.
CDA News Nigeria reports that the former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, in a message conveyed by the MANDATE 27 GROUP, offered a profound apology to his constituents, saying, “If I have offended you knowingly or unknowingly and if anyone around me have done same to you, I apologise…” According to the group, this is not mere politics but a demonstration of penance and leadership in the same breath.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that IKUKU believes unity is not a slogan painted on banners but daily work that involves sitting at the table with those who disagree and still calling them brother. He emphasized that Ndi Ikwuano and Ndi Umuahia share the same soil, the same markets, and the same names in ancestral prayers, making division an expensive burden that costs children’s futures and communal progress.
The former Speaker’s philosophy is guided by what he describes as “brotherly love” — not the soft, sentimental kind, but the stubborn, covenant kind that says, “Your pain is my pain, even when we are not from the same compound.” IKUKU has walked that love in public service, quiet interventions, and in lifting people who cannot repay him.
“Let us forge ahead, embrace peace for the betterment of Ndi Ikwuano/Umuahia,” IKUKU urged his people. Forging ahead means trading suspicion for collaboration, trading noise for projects, and trading ego for service. At the core of his conviction is the belief that we rise or fall together, and his apology is not weakness but leadership taking responsibility so that the next generation inherits unity instead of wounds.
