Former LGA Deputy Chairman and Auditor Comr. Enyinnaya Chiedozie Dumps PDP in Ikwuano

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suffered yet another painful and significant membership loss in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State as Comrade Enyinnaya Chiedozie, a highly respected former Deputy Chairman and former LGA Auditor of Ikwuano, has formally walked away from the party from Oloko Ward 1.

Comr. Chiedozie’s departure from the PDP is widely regarded as one of the most impactful defections to hit the party’s grassroots structure in Ikwuano in recent times, given his deep roots, extensive administrative experience, and considerable influence across the local government area.

Having served the party and the people of Ikwuano at the highest levels of local government administration — both as Deputy Chairman and as LGA Auditor — Comr. Chiedozie’s exit represents the loss of a seasoned, trusted, and community-grounded political voice that the PDP can ill afford to lose ahead of the fiercely contested 2027 general elections.

His decision to dump the PDP reflects the broader wave of mass defections and resignations that has been steadily eroding the party’s membership base across Ikwuano, as experienced stalwarts lose confidence in the party’s ability to resolve its deepening internal crisis, end its protracted leadership disputes, and present a united and credible political platform to the electorate.

Political stakeholders in Oloko Ward 1 and across Ikwuano LGA say Comr. Chiedozie’s departure sends yet another powerful and unmistakable signal to the PDP’s state and national leadership that urgent, decisive, and transparent reconciliation efforts are desperately needed if the party hopes to retain its remaining influential members and remain politically relevant in the area.
