The political atmosphere in Ikwuano received a significant boost as the Abia Progressives Youth Movement, a formidable and well-organized youth group, paid a solidarity and courtesy visit to renowned philanthropist and APC chieftain, Ugwumba Chika Ishionwu.
The youth delegation described themselves as overwhelmed by Ugwumba’s consistent contributions to community development, youth empowerment, and grassroots engagement, noting that his impact across Ikwuano has continued to speak louder than words.
Discussions during the visit focused on strengthening the APC family at the grassroots, with particular emphasis on the ongoing APC e-registration drive and the need for massive youth participation to build a more resilient party structure in Abia State.
Responding, Ugwumba Chika Ishionwu spoke with humility, acknowledging the support and encouragement from the youths while reiterating his long-standing belief in service, sacrifice, and people-centred leadership. He stressed the importance of aligning local political efforts with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing it as a pathway to sustainable development and inclusive governance.
While maintaining a modest posture, Ugwumba made it clear that he is determined to make a meaningful difference, especially if called upon to serve, noting that leadership must always be rooted in impact, integrity, and accountability to the people.
In a show of confidence in his leadership capacity and philanthropic track record, the Abia Progressives Youth Movement announced its intention to appoint Ugwumba Chika Ishionwu as a Patron of the organization, further underscoring the growing bond between him and the youth constituency.
Political observers view the visit as a strong signal of rising grassroots momentum, with the organized youth bloc positioning itself as a key force in shaping the political direction of Ikwuano.
