Gov Mutfwang Urges Military: Treat Terrorists as Enemies of State

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has urged the Nigerian military to treat terrorists as criminals and enemies of the state, emphasizing that their offenses should not be downplayed.

Mutfwang made the remarks on Tuesday during a visit by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shuaibu, in Jos.

The governor commended the improved security situation in the state under the current military leadership but stressed that insurgents must be seen as threats to Nigeria’s sovereignty and dealt with decisively.

He also praised the General Officer Commanding 3 Division, Maj.-Gen. Folunsho Oyinlola, for ensuring peace during the recent festive period.

In response, the COAS thanked Mutfwang for his support and reiterated the army’s commitment to mitigating security challenges in Plateau and across Nigeria.
