Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has raised a strong alarm, accusing the opposition All Progressives Congress of orchestrating a deliberate plot to disrupt the forthcoming election in Osun State, in what he described as a dangerous threat to democracy and the will of the people.
Governor Adeleke, who spoke with visible concern, urged relevant security agencies — including the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, and other law enforcement bodies — to take proactive and decisive steps to identify, monitor, and neutralise any individuals or groups involved in the alleged destabilisation plot.
The Governor maintained that the people of Osun State have enjoyed relative peace under his administration and warned that any attempt to truncate the democratic process would be firmly resisted through lawful and constitutional means.
The ruling Peoples Democratic Party in Osun has echoed the Governor’s concerns, calling on the Independent National Electoral Commission to strengthen its security arrangements and ensure a level playing field for all participating parties.
The APC, however, is yet to formally respond to the allegations at the time of this report. Party chieftains are expected to address the media shortly.
Political watchers in Osun say the allegations reflect the deepening tension between the two major parties as the state braces for what promises to be a fiercely contested electoral battle.
CDA News Nigeria urges all parties to embrace peace, respect the rule of law, and allow the democratic process to run its full and unhindered course.
