UMUAHIA – The family of media mogul and philanthropist, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (Don Lulu), has expressed profound appreciation to Nigerians from all walks of life for the outpouring of support and solidarity during the burial of their matriarch, Dame Peace Onyekwulechi Igbokwe.
In a statement issued after the funeral ceremonies, the DON Media Group Chairman thanked family members, friends, associates, and well-wishers who attended the event, sent condolences, offered prayers, and stood with the family throughout the mourning period.
He specifically acknowledged the presence and encouragement of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, and Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, who personally attended the burial.
Other dignitaries recognised include Deputy Governor Ikechukwu Emetu, Chief of Staff Caleb Ajagba, federal lawmaker Obi Aguocha, National Secretary of the Labour Party Darlington Nwokocha, a representative of Seyi Tinubu, son of the President,and Ambassador Chibudom Jephthah Chigozirim,CEO JEF Exchange.
The family also extended gratitude to former Abia Speaker Chinedum Orji, former Minister Uche Ogah, traditional rulers, community leaders, and Nollywood personalities who graced the occasion.
Don Lulu described the massive turnout and expressions of love as “humbling and comforting,” noting that the support reaffirmed the values of unity, friendship, and shared humanity.
The family prayed for God’s blessings upon all who stood with them and for eternal rest for the soul of the late Dame Peace Igbokwe.
