IKWUANO — The All Progressives Congress candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji (Ikuku), shared a moment of worship with women of the constituency who trooped out in large numbers to endorse his candidacy ahead of the 2027 general elections .
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the women, drawn from the three local government areas of Ikwuano, Umuahia North, and Umuahia South, gathered to declare their support for the former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly in what was described as an emotional display of solidarity . In a viral video, Ikuku was seen singing a Christian song alongside the women, a moment that has since sparked reactions across social media .
CDA News Nigeria reports that the endorsement event reflects the growing acceptance of the APC candidate in the constituency, which analysts have described as a testament to his widespread popularity. One observer noted that the gathering demonstrated the “depth of grassroots support” for his bid .
The women’s endorsement came a day before the 2027 election campaigns officially kicked off on August 21 . The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared August 20, 2026, as the official date for the commencement of campaigns for the 2027 general elections .
