Kano Gov Hails FG’s Suspension of NECO Fee Hike

The Kano State Government has applauded the Federal Government for suspending the proposed increase in the National Examinations Council (NECO) examination fees.

CDA News Nigeria reports that the state described the decision as timely and beneficial to students, parents, and guardians facing economic challenges.

According to government officials, the suspension will ease the financial burden on families and help ensure that more students can register for the examination without hardship.

CDA News Nigeria gathered that the Kano State Government also urged the Federal Government and relevant education agencies to continue implementing policies that improve access to affordable and quality education across the country.

Education stakeholders have equally welcomed the decision, noting that keeping examination fees affordable will encourage greater participation among secondary school students and reduce the number of candidates who may be unable to sit for the exams due to financial constraints.

The state reaffirmed its commitment to supporting educational development and expressed hope that future decisions would prioritize the welfare of Nigerian students.
