LAGOS — The management of Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, has assured students that no qualified student will be required to spend an extra year at the institution due to missing results .
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the assurance followed reports that about 100 final-year students in the Department of English were at risk of spending an additional year after some of their 300-level results were allegedly not uploaded by two lecturers . However, LASU, in a statement issued on Sunday, said the issue had been resolved after an investigation by the university management.
CDA News Nigeria reports that the university clarified that the Department has uploaded all outstanding results as of Sunday, August 23, 2026. “Following an enquiry by the University Management into the allegation concerning the non-upload of results of some graduating students in the Department of English, the University wishes to clarify that the Department has uploaded all outstanding results as of Sunday, 23 August 2026,” the statement reads .
The university said students who had fulfilled all graduation requirements would graduate alongside their colleagues in the 2025/2026 academic session. “No student who has met all graduation requirements will be required to spend an extra year on account of the issue raised,” the institution said. However, it clarified that students whose results remained outstanding after the latest action may not have completed all the requirements for graduation .
