A legal battle involving the African Democratic Congress (ADC) at the Supreme Court could weaken efforts by opposition parties to build a formidable coalition against the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general election, political analysts have said.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the ongoing court proceedings over the party’s leadership and internal affairs have raised concerns about the ADC’s ability to effectively participate in coalition talks with other opposition groups.
According to political observers, prolonged litigation could create uncertainty within the party, distract its leadership, and undermine confidence among potential allies seeking a united front against the ruling APC.
They noted that while opposition parties have intensified consultations aimed at strengthening cooperation before the next general election, unresolved legal disputes may complicate negotiations and delay the emergence of a cohesive alliance.
