Lolo Blessing Okereke Elected Chairperson of Wives of Nigerian Legion, Abia

UMUAHIA, ABIA STATE – Lady Lolo Blessing Okereke has been elected as the new Chairperson of the Wives of the Nigerian Legion, Abia State Chapter, pledging to uplift the welfare of legionnaires’ families across the state.

Her emergence followed a peaceful election process, which saw members of the association unanimously endorse her leadership. In her acceptance speech, Lady Okereke expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in her and vowed to prioritize the well-being of widows, children, and dependents of fallen heroes.

“I am deeply honoured by this responsibility. Together, we will work to ensure that the sacrifices of our heroes are never forgotten and that their families receive the support they deserve,” she stated.

The Wives of the Nigerian Legion is a support arm dedicated to advocating for the welfare of families of ex-servicemen and fallen military personnel. Lady Okereke’s leadership is expected to bring renewed focus to empowerment programs and social interventions for legionnaires’ families in Abia State.

The event was attended by members of the legion, government representatives, and well-wishers who commended the peaceful transition.
