Mayor Igbokwe Graces Homecoming of Rt. Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, Gets Heroic Welcome in Umunneochi

The atmosphere in Umunneochi Local Government Area was electrifying as Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (Don Lulu) joined other political leaders to honour the homecoming celebration of Rt. Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha (PhD, OON), former Minister of State for Labour and Employment.

The event, held in the heart of Umunneochi, attracted dignitaries, party faithful, and community members who came to celebrate the former federal lawmaker’s achievements and contributions to national development.

A highlight of the occasion was the dramatic entrance of Mayor Igbokwe. The moment he arrived with his entourage, the entire Umunneochi chapter of the City Boy Movement (CBM) rose to welcome him in a display of loyalty and grassroots solidarity. Chanting and waving, the CBM members escorted the State Director to his seat, signaling the strong bond between the movement and its leadership.

Mayor Igbokwe, who is an aspirant for the Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency seat, used the opportunity to reaffirm his commitment to youth empowerment, inclusive governance, and the development of Abia State.

Rt. Hon. Onyejeocha, visibly moved by the massive turnout, thanked Mayor Igbokwe and other leaders for their support, calling for unity and collective effort to advance the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia ahead of the 2027 elections.

The event ended with prayers and a renewed pledge to work together for the progress of Umunneochi and Abia at large.
