Mohbad’s Family Demands Fresh Probe, Bars Wife from Using Surname

The family of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, has renewed its call for a transparent investigation into his death and has publicly directed his partner, Wunmi Adebanjo, to stop using the Aloba surname .

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the family, led by Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, announced the appointment of new legal counsel to handle matters related to the singer’s estate and the paternity of his son, Liam. The family stated that Wunmi should cease using the surname until a court-ordered DNA test confirms the child’s paternity, noting that traditional marriage rites were never completed .

In response, Wunmi’s lawyer, Kabir Akingbolu, dismissed the family’s directive as illegal and stated that they have been ready for a DNA test but accused the family of repeatedly withdrawing from the process despite court orders .
