The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has destroyed 51 hectares of cannabis plantations and arrested 281 suspects during a series of anti-drug operations across Ekiti State.
According to the agency, the operation targeted illegal cannabis farms and locations linked to the cultivation and distribution of illicit drugs. The exercise forms part of the NDLEA’s sustained campaign to curb drug trafficking and abuse across the country.
Officials disclosed that large quantities of cannabis were destroyed during the raids, while the suspects were taken into custody for investigation and possible prosecution.
The agency reiterated its commitment to dismantling drug trafficking networks and preventing the cultivation of illicit substances, warning that those involved in the illegal drug trade would continue to face the full weight of the law.
The NDLEA also urged members of the public to support its efforts by providing credible information that could lead to the discovery of illegal drug activities in their communities.
