Netanyahu to Urge Trump on Tougher Iran Missile Stance in US Talks

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said his top priority in Wednesday’s meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump will be Iran’s ballistic missile program, urging Washington to take a tougher stance in ongoing negotiations with Tehran.

Netanyahu, who departed for Washington on Tuesday, stated he would present Israel’s concerns over Iran’s missile arsenal, which Israeli officials view as a major regional threat separate from Tehran’s nuclear activities.

The talks come days after U.S. and Iranian officials held negotiations in Oman, with Trump indicating further dialogue would follow. Iran has so far resisted expanding discussions beyond its nuclear program.

Netanyahu’s visit also occurs amid heightened regional tensions and international criticism of Israeli policies in the occupied West Bank, though the Prime Minister’s focus remains firmly on Iran’s military capabilities.
