Abuja – A new digital tool has been launched to increase transparency and public pressure around the long-delayed Women Reserved Seats Bill.
The online tracker, developed by a coalition of civil society groups, allows citizens to monitor the bill’s progress and see how their individual representatives in the National Assembly vote on it.
The bill, which seeks to allocate specific legislative seats for women, has faced repeated setbacks. This tracker names and tracks each lawmaker’s public stance and voting record.
A project coordinator stated, “This is about accountability. Nigerians deserve to know who supports women’s inclusion and who is blocking it.”
The platform provides simple, searchable data, empowering voters to hold their representatives accountable for their decisions on this critical gender equality legislation.
