Nigerian Army Repels Terrorist Attack, Neutralises Suspect in Zamfara

Troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully repelled a terrorist attack on a military base in Zamfara State, neutralising one suspect during the ensuing gun battle.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday in the Zurmi Local Government Area, a known hotspot for bandit activity. According to a statement issued by the Army’s公共关系 officer, the attackers arrived in large numbers on motorcycles but were met with fierce resistance.

“The gallant troops repelled the attack, forcing the terrorists to flee in disarray. One suspect was neutralised, while several others escaped with gunshot wounds,” the statement read.

Recovered items include two AK-47 rifles, three magazines, and five motorcycles abandoned by the fleeing attackers. No soldier was injured in the encounter.

The Army has since launched a clearance operation in the surrounding forests to track down the fleeing terrorists.

The Zamfara State Government commended the military for its swift response and urged residents to continue providing useful intelligence to security agencies.
