Port Harcourt – In a significant move to empower Nigerian youth, Nigeria LNG (NLNG) and the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) have inaugurated a new, ultra-modern Information and Communication Technology (ICT) hub in Port Harcourt.
The facility, located at Baptist High School, is designed to equip young Nigerians with essential digital skills for a technology-driven world. It was unveiled during the close-out ceremony for a Human Capital Development Basic Training Programme, which also saw 30 trainees graduate with international certifications.
Mr. Felix Ogbe, Executive Secretary of NCDMB, described the centre as “a gateway to knowledge and innovation.” He stated that it represents a belief that with the right tools, Nigerian students can become creators and innovators.
The new hub is a 40-seater facility powered by a 20KVA solar and inverter system. It features renovated classrooms, digital smart boards, and modern learning tools, providing a state-of-the-art environment for students to learn coding, design, and other innovation-focused skills.
