Cult Clash Claims Life of FUO Graduate in Bayelsa

YENAGOA — A recent graduate of the Federal University, Otuoke (FUO) in Bayelsa State was killed on Friday night in a suspected clash between rival cult groups.

The victim, identified simply as Mark, was reportedly shot in the stomach during an attack linked to a conflict between the Neo Black Movement (Black Axe) and the Vikings confraternity.

Sources familiar with the incident stated that the assailants were targeting another individual but shot Mark after failing to locate their intended victim. Friends rushed him to a hospital, but a tragic accident involving their vehicle at a speed bump complicated the emergency, leading to his death.

Described by friends as a calm, friendly, and industrious person who often advised against cultism, the deceased was said to have stayed in the area against warnings due to his girlfriend.

The Bayelsa State Police Command, through its Public Relations Officer, ASP Musa Mohammed, confirmed the incident and stated that a discreet and thorough investigation is underway.
