Two Jailed Over Donnarumma Home Robbery

Two men involved in a violent burglary at the Paris home of Manchester City and Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma have been sentenced to prison by a Paris court.

CDA News Nigeria gathered that Donnarumma was savagely beaten during the July 2023 robbery, while his then-fiancée, now wife, Alessia Elefante, was choked with a cable and later suffered a miscarriage attributed to the trauma of the attack.

Ilyas Kherbouch, 21, identified as the mastermind, was sentenced to nine years in prison and fined 80,000 euros, while co-defendant Moktar D. received a five-year sentence with two years suspended. A third defendant, Khyan M., suspected of orchestrating the robbery from his prison cell, was acquitted.

The court heard that four masked men broke into the couple’s luxury ninth-floor apartment on Avenue Montaigne via the rooftops, dragging the pair from their bed, beating Donnarumma with knuckle gloves, and making away with cash, jewellery and luxury items worth nearly one million euros.

Prosecutors described the exclusive neighbourhood as increasingly targeted by youthful, highly violent criminal networks, citing seven other celebrity victims between 2022 and 2025.

Donnarumma, who played for PSG at the time of the attack, moved to Manchester City in 2025.

CDA News Nigeria extends sympathy to the Donnarumma family over this traumatic experience.
