CDA News Nigeria gathered that the tragic accident occurred at about 5:30 pm on Thursday at the Tashan Magariya Junction along the busy Gombe-Billiri road.

According to a detailed incident report by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the horrific crash was triggered by a mechanical fault. The report stated that a brake failure allegedly made the driver of a DAF trailer travelling from Gombe towards Yola lose control, leading to a deadly collision.

The FRSC confirmed that the accident involved a total of eight vehicles. “The accident involved a DAF trailer, two Volkswagen Golf cars and five motorcycles, making a total of eight vehicles involved in the crash,” the report stated.

Emergency responders, including FRSC personnel and officers of the Nigeria Police Force, were promptly dispatched to the scene to conduct rescue operations.

CDA News Nigeria reports that this tragedy highlights the recurring danger of mechanical failures on Nigerian highways, prompting the FRSC to continuously urge motorists to properly maintain their vehicles and adhere to safety regulations.
