The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Uche Aneke, has issued a stern warning to criminal elements across Nigeria, declaring that the Air Force will hunt down terrorists, kidnappers and all those threatening national security.
Speaking during an operational visit to Air Force Base Kaduna on Monday, CAS Aneke vowed that there would be “no sanctuary for criminals” anywhere in the country.
“Our intelligence and surveillance capabilities have been significantly enhanced. We will locate, track, and neutralise bandits, kidnappers, and terrorists wherever they hide,” Aneke said.
He disclosed that new precision strike aircraft have been deployed to troubled zones in the North-West, North-Central, and parts of the South-East. He also called on civilians to cooperate with the military by providing timely intelligence.
“We cannot afford to fail Nigerians. This is total war against insecurity,” he added.
The Air Force has recorded recent successes, including the destruction of several bandit enclaves in Zamfara and Katsina states. Human rights groups, however, have called for caution to avoid civilian casualties during air strikes.
