NYCN, NDLEA Partner To Launch “Youth Against Illicit Drugs” Campaign

Abuja, October 30, 2025 – The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have announced a new partnership to launch a nationwide “Youth Against Illicit Drugs (Y-AID)” campaign.

The initiative, proposed by NYCN President Amb. Babangida Isah, aims to mobilize young people across Nigeria for drug prevention, rehabilitation awareness, and community sensitization.

The campaign will operate under the NDLEA’s existing War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) framework. A joint implementation committee will be formed to design a roadmap, focusing on youth mobilization and public engagement. The NDLEA will also train youth leaders to serve as Anti-Drug Ambassadors in their communities.

The partnership was formalized during a strategic meeting at the NDLEA headquarters in Abuja, with both institutions pledging commitment to a sustained collaboration.
