OBI CUBANA CLARIFIES REMARKS ON IGBO, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO UNITY

LAGOS, NIGERIA – Prominent businessman and socialite, Obi Cubana, has moved to clarify recent remarks about the Igbo nation, reaffirming his commitment to national unity and the collective progress of the South-East.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the entrepreneur addressed what he described as misinterpretations of his recent comments regarding the political direction of the Igbo people. He emphasized that his remarks were not intended to undermine the Igbo identity but to advocate for strategic engagement with the broader Nigerian political landscape.

“I remain a proud Igbo man, committed to the development of our people and the unity of Nigeria. My comments were about positioning our people for greater national relevance, not division,” Cubana stated.

The businessman, who has become a significant voice in youth and political mobilization, reiterated his belief that the Igbo nation must embrace inclusive politics that transcend ethnic boundaries. He called on Igbo leaders and youth to focus on economic empowerment and strategic alliances that would secure the region’s interests in the national framework.

His clarification follows days of heated debate on social media, where his earlier remarks had drawn mixed reactions from various quarters.

Cubana also reaffirmed his support for initiatives aimed at uplifting young Nigerians, pledging to continue his philanthropic and business efforts across the country.
