Abuja, Nigeria — National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has said that NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso lack the political legacy needed to secure victory in the 2027 presidential election.
CDA News Nigeria reports that Ganduje made the remarks while addressing party supporters, expressing confidence that the APC remains well-positioned to retain power in the next general election.
According to him, the ruling party’s achievements, nationwide structure and support base give it an advantage over opposition parties ahead of the 2027 polls. He maintained that the APC would continue to strengthen its grassroots mobilisation and consolidate its political influence across the country.
“Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso do not have the political legacy required to win the 2027 presidential election. The APC remains the party to beat,” Ganduje said.
The comments are expected to draw reactions from the Labour Party, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and other opposition groups as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.
Political analysts say the build-up to the next general election is likely to witness increased consultations, alliances and policy debates among the major political parties.
