Oshiomhole Laments Zoom Removal as APC National Chairman

Senator Adams Oshiomhole, former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has revealed that he was removed from office through a Zoom meeting he was never invited to.

Speaking during an interview on AIT, Oshiomhole stated that after he led the party to victory in the 2015 elections, powerful interests within the party became determined to remove him when efforts to unseat him through conventional means failed .

“I was sacked as APC National Chairman on Zoom,” he said, adding that the virtual National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held at the Aso Rock Villa during the COVID-19 pandemic approved his removal and dissolved the entire National Working Committee under his leadership .

Oshiomhole also revealed that after his dismissal, he became lonely and abandoned by his own party. “People were afraid to visit me then because it could be termed anti-party,” he recalled .

He noted that his removal was less about constitutional procedure and more about internal power dynamics, particularly among governors who feared he would impose President Bola Tinubu as the party’s 2023 presidential candidate .
