OSOGBO — The Accord Party has screened and cleared Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke to contest as its sole aspirant in the party’s governorship primary, scheduled to hold today in Osogbo.
The party’s screening committee, led by National Organising Secretary Mr. Ibe Thankgod, announced the clearance on Wednesday, stating that the governor had fulfilled all requisite nomination requirements.
A certificate of clearance was presented to Governor Adeleke, who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Accord Party earlier this week.
In his response, Adeleke thanked the party leadership and expressed readiness to lead the Accord Party to victory in the 2026 gubernatorial election.
“I am ready for the primary, and I am ready for the general elections. We are winning by God’s grace,” the governor stated.
Governor Adeleke had officially announced his defection to the Accord Party on Tuesday night, having resigned from the PDP on December 2.
