Otti’s Appointment of Kalu’s Wife Won’t Save Him from 2027 Exit – Political Analyst

A political analyst, Nwakwuribe Elendu, has dismissed the appointment of Dr. Ezinne Kalu, wife of Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, to a state board by Governor Alex Otti, describing it as an act of “political desperation” that will not prevent the All Progressives Congress (APC) from taking over Abia State in 2027.

In a statement, Elendu argued that even if Governor Otti were to appoint Benjamin Kalu’s relatives to various positions, it would not deter the “Maka Odinma Abia” movement, which he described as a collective drive by the people to restore power to the APC.

The analyst contrasted Otti’s approach with that of Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, noting that Kalu has consistently given appointments across the three senatorial districts without allocating a single position to any member of his own family. “That is the hallmark of selflessness,” Elendu stated.

He described the offer of a state board appointment to Kalu’s wife, which would last barely eight months, as “the height of desperation.” Elendu questioned why Governor Otti appears preoccupied with the wives of his political rivals.

The analyst concluded that the mission to return Abia State to the APC in 2027 remains unstoppable, regardless of any enticement offered by the current administration.
