“Our Goals Align” — Kwankwaso Opens Up on Decision to Collaborate With Peter Obi

Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has broken his silence on his decision to collaborate with former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party stalwart, Mr. Peter Obi, describing the partnership as one driven by a shared vision for a better Nigeria.

Kwankwaso, speaking in a recent interview, said his resolve to align with Obi was anchored on their mutual commitment to good governance, economic revival, and the urgent need to provide Nigerians with a credible political alternative ahead of future elections.

The former Kano State Governor noted that despite their different party platforms, both leaders share a deep concern for the welfare of ordinary Nigerians, particularly the poor and the youth, who he said have been the greatest victims of Nigeria’s economic hardship.

“When you find someone whose goals align with yours for the good of the people, politics should not be a barrier,” Kwankwaso was quoted as saying.
Political analysts describe the emerging alliance between the two 2023 presidential contenders as a potentially significant force in reshaping Nigeria’s opposition landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.
