Pastor Patrick Ikechi has taken the helm of the Emeka Atuma Campaign Council, leading the team with a strong emphasis on prayer and devotion as the 2027 senatorial race for Abia Central heats up.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the campaign council, which was inaugurated recently, has adopted a faith-driven approach to political engagement, with Pastor Ikechi stressing that divine guidance is essential for credible leadership and community development.
According to a statement made available to our newsroom on Monday, Pastor Ikechi described the assignment as a calling to serve the people of Abia Central with integrity, humility and accountability. He said the council would prioritise issue-based campaigns, grassroots mobilisation and prayers for peace before, during and after the elections.
“We are not just campaigning; we are interceding for our people and for the future of Abia Central. Prayer is the foundation of every successful endeavour, and we believe God will guide us to victory,” he said.
CDA News Nigeria reports that the campaign council has since commenced prayer sessions and strategic meetings across the senatorial district. Hon. Emeka Atuma, the APC candidate, has reportedly endorsed the spiritual direction of the campaign, noting that leadership must be rooted in service and the fear of God.
The development has been received with enthusiasm by party supporters, who see the combination of prayer and grassroots engagement as a refreshing approach to political campaigns in the state.
