The Ebonyi State Police Command has arrested ten suspects in connection with a violent communal clash that resulted in the beheading of four persons.
The attack occurred on Thursday in Okporojọr Village, Oso Edda Community, Edda Local Government Area. It stems from a long-standing land dispute between the people of Oso Edda and their Amasiri neighbours in Afikpo LGA.
Commissioner of Police, Mrs. Adaku Uche-Anya, confirmed during an assessment visit that three males and one female were killed. Several mud houses were burnt, a church building damaged, and harvested rice destroyed.
She assured the community of the command’s commitment to justice and warned against taking laws into their own hands. The police have deployed tactical squads to restore calm in the area.
