The Katsina State Police Command has presented cheques totalling N28.01 million to the families of 25 police officers who died in the line of duty.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the Commissioner of Police, CP Ali Umar Fage, presented the cheques on Tuesday at the Command Headquarters Conference Hall in Katsina, as part of a welfare package initiated by Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for families of officers who paid the supreme price in service to the nation.
Fage extended condolences to the families and prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased officers, describing them as gallant men whose sacrifices would not be forgotten. He urged the beneficiaries to use the financial assistance judiciously to meet immediate needs and secure their future, while commending the IGP’s commitment to officers’ welfare.
According to the command, the total sum of N28,012,584.70 was distributed among the 25 beneficiary families.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Alkasim Salisu expressed appreciation to the IGP and the Commissioner of Police, assuring that the funds would be used responsibly.
