Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been released from prison after meeting his bail conditions.
The “Zazu” crooner regained his freedom on Monday, January 19, following a week in detention over allegations of assaulting his baby mama, Ashabi Simple, her siblings, and stealing a car.
The incident stemmed from a viral New Year’s Eve altercation, which led to Portable’s arrest and subsequent arraignment on a nine-count charge before the Federal High Court in Ota, Ogun State.
He was remanded in prison pending a fresh bail hearing, which took place on Monday, resulting in his release after fulfilling the court’s bail terms.
The case has drawn significant public attention due to the artist’s controversial public persona and ongoing legal troubles.
