The United States Ambassador to Nigeria, Richard Mills, has officially concluded his tenure after serving for a year and a half at the U.S. Mission in Abuja.
In a statement posted on the mission’s official social media handle, Mills was credited with playing a pivotal role in enhancing diplomatic, economic, and security cooperation between the U.S. and Nigeria during his assignment.
Following his departure, Deputy Chief of Mission Keith Heffern has assumed the role of Charge d’Affaires ad interim and will oversee mission operations until a new ambassador is appointed.
The U.S. Mission expressed gratitude for Mills’s dedicated service and leadership in advancing bilateral relations and promoting mutual understanding between both countries.
