President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, commencing his multi-state tour with the inauguration of key infrastructural projects and attendance at a high-profile social event.
The President touched down at the General Muhammadu Buhari International Airport, Maiduguri, at approximately 12:55 p.m. on Saturday. He was received by a host of dignitaries, including Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, the Governors of Katsina, Adamawa, and Delta States.
Shortly after his arrival, President Tinubu commissioned the newly constructed airport extension and VIP wing. The projects are designed to enhance air transport operations and improve passenger handling capacity at the facility.
The working visit is also expected to feature the inauguration of other landmark projects executed by the Borno State Government in the transport and education sectors.
Later today, the President is scheduled to attend the Nikkah and marriage ceremony of Sadeeq Sheriff, son of former Borno State Governor, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, and his bride, Hadiza Kam Salem.
- Following the events in Maiduguri, President Tinubu will proceed to Bauchi State to pay a condolence visit to the family of the late Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi.
