ISIALA OBORO — Former federal lawmaker Rep Sam Onuigbo and his wife, Pastor Princess Dame Onuigbo, have commended the women of Ikwuano and Ibere clans for the successful hosting of their annual August meetings, describing the gatherings as strong reflections of unity and grassroots development .
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the Ibere women celebrated their August meeting on August 8, while the grand finale of the Ikwuano Women’s August Meeting was held on 10th Monday at Isiala Oboro, the council headquarters of Ikwuano Local Government Area in Abia State .
CDA News Nigeria reports that the Ikwuano event attracted prominent personalities including the wife of the Deputy Governor of Abia State, Mrs Adaeze Emetu; the Vice Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Professor Ursula Akanwa; the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Abia State University, Professor Roline Ndimele; and the wife of the Ikwuano LGA Executive Mayor, Mrs Nnenna Nwaubani .
Rep Onuigbo, who currently serves as President of GLOBE Legislators Worldwide and previously represented Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, reaffirmed his continued commitment to the development of his Ibere clan, Ikwuano community, and Abia State at large . The couple praised the resilience, industry, and organisational strength of the women, noting that platforms such as the August meeting remain vital in fostering peace and empowering women economically and socially .

Pastor Princess Onuigbo, a prominent figure from Ikwuano LGA, applauded the women for sustaining the tradition and described it as an important avenue through which women continue to shape the development trajectory of their communities . The Onuigbos have remained consistent supporters of community initiatives, with the former lawmaker previously credited with facilitating infrastructural projects including boreholes, market facilities, and electricity provision .
