Shettima Reaffirms Tinubu’s Commitment to Peace in Kwara

Vice President Kashim Shettima has assured residents of Kwara State of President Bola Tinubu’s determination to restore peace and security following Tuesday’s deadly terrorist attacks on Woro and Nuku villages in Kaiama Local Government Area.

Leading a federal delegation on a condolence visit on Saturday, Shettima disclosed that President Tinubu has ordered the immediate deployment of an army battalion to Kaiama. He added that the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has been directed to mobilize resources, in partnership with the state agency, to provide relief to the affected communities.

“All hands are already on deck to rid the affected communities and the entire state of insecurity,” Shettima stated, extending the federal government’s condolences to the government and people of Kwara.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq thanked the federal government for its swift response, confirming that security forces, including the General Officer Commanding the 2nd Division of the Nigerian Army, are already on the ground.

The attacks, which occurred on February 3, claimed at least 75 lives, destroyed property, and displaced many residents.
