Six Ex-PDP Governors Attend APC Caucus, Signaling Major Political Realignment

ABUJA — In a powerful display of political realignment, six former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors attended the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Caucus meeting at the State House Conference Centre on Thursday.

The governors, who recently defected to the ruling party, include:

· Sim Fubara (Rivers)
· Peter Mbah (Enugu)
· Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta)
· Douye Diri (Bayelsa)
· Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom)
· Agbu Kefas (Taraba)

Also present were former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, former Senate Presidents Anyim Pius Anyim and Ken Nnamani, all recently of the PDP. The meeting was attended by top government officials including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker Tajudeen Abbas.

President Bola Tinubu arrived at 7:38 pm to lead the caucus, which was also observed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The gathering underscores the APC’s expanding influence, particularly in the South-South and South-East regions, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
