A suspected notorious bandit arrested in a forest in Delta State has allegedly confessed to operating under the instruction of a man he identified only as “Abuja Alhaji,” according to security sources.
CDA News Nigeria reports that the suspect made the claim during interrogation after his arrest in a security operation targeting criminal hideouts in the state.
According to the suspect, he and members of his group allegedly carried out criminal activities under the direction of the individual he referred to as “Abuja Alhaji.” However, authorities have not independently verified the claim, and no official confirmation has been made regarding the identity of the person mentioned.
Security operatives said investigations are ongoing to verify the suspect’s statements, identify possible accomplices and dismantle any criminal network linked to the alleged confession.
The arrest is part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to combat banditry, kidnapping and other violent crimes across the country. Authorities urged residents to continue providing credible information that could assist security operations.
