Group Disowns Statement Declaring Senator Kalu ‘Persona Non Grata’ in Ohafia

The Ikenna Ukwa Progressive Group has disowned a press release declaring Senator Orji Uzor Kalu as persona non grata in Ohafia community, describing the document as unauthorized and unrepresentative of Ohafia youths.

In a statement signed by its Director General, Mr. Francis Igwe, the group—a pro-group of the Senior Legislative Aide to the Senate President, Hon. Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa—stated that the earlier release co-signed by Ohafia Youth Chairman Mr. Obasi Kalu Obasi and Secretary Onyekachi U. Uduma was issued without proper authorization and does not reflect the community’s position.

The group distanced itself from the content, urging the signatories to refrain from actions that could cause disunity. It praised Senator Kalu as a respected former governor and current senator who has contributed to Abia North’s development through projects and philanthropy.

The statement also announced that Hon. Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa will soon meet with Ohafia youth leaders to address grievances and promote peace, urging the public to disregard the earlier publication.
