Three people have been confirmed dead following a collision between a truck and a tricycle in Akwa Ibom. The incident occurred on a busy roadway, leaving residents and commuters in shock.
According to eyewitnesses, the truck allegedly lost control before crashing into the tricycle, which was carrying passengers. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but the impact resulted in the immediate death of three occupants. Several others sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Akwa Ibom confirmed the accident, stating that a preliminary investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the collision. Local residents have expressed concern over the frequency of traffic accidents in the area, calling on state authorities to strengthen road safety measures, enforce traffic rules, and improve public awareness campaigns to prevent future tragedies.
