“Tinubu and APC Systematically Destroyed LP and NNPP” — Buba Galadima Drops Bombshell Allegation

Veteran political strategist and outspoken opposition voice, Buba Galadima, has dropped a political bombshell, alleging that President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) deliberately and systematically engineered the destruction of both the Labour Party (LP) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) — the two parties that posed the greatest opposition threat to the APC in the 2023 general elections.

Galadima, who has never been known to mince words when it comes to exposing what he describes as the dark underbelly of Nigerian power politics, alleged that the APC under Tinubu’s direction deployed a combination of financial inducements, infiltration of party structures, sponsorship of internal crises, and strategic poaching of key figures to weaken and ultimately fracture both opposition parties from within.

According to Galadima, the wave of defections, leadership disputes, internal power struggles, and ideological confusion currently plaguing both the LP and NNPP did not happen by accident — but were carefully and calculatedly orchestrated by political masterminds working in the interest of the Tinubu administration to neutralise any credible opposition ahead of the 2027 elections.

“Tinubu-led APC destroyed LP and NNPP,” Galadima stated bluntly, in remarks that have since ignited fierce debate across Nigeria’s political landscape and social media platforms.

The allegation adds a sinister dimension to the ongoing crisis rocking Nigeria’s opposition space, lending weight to the growing suspicion among many political observers that the internal chaos tearing apart the LP and NNPP is being fuelled by forces far more powerful and calculating than mere internal disagreements.

Galadima’s claims have drawn sharp reactions from the APC, whose spokespersons have been quick to dismiss the allegations as the desperate ramblings of a frustrated opposition figure with a personal axe to grind against President Tinubu.

However, supporters of the former opposition parties have seized on Galadima’s remarks as a long-overdue and honest explanation for the rapid and seemingly coordinated collapse of two parties that, just two years ago, were hailed as the future of Nigerian opposition politics.
Political analysts say that if Galadima’s allegations carry even a fraction of truth, they reveal a deeply troubling picture of a ruling party willing to subvert democratic competition and weaken political pluralism to entrench its hold on power ahead of 2027.
