Tinubu: Fuel Subsidy Gone for Good

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has warned Nigerians not to be deceived about the fuel subsidy, declaring that the policy is firmly in the past.

CDA News Nigeria gathered that the President made this statement on Saturday during the official flag-off of his 2027 presidential re-election campaign in Kaduna State.

Addressing a massive crowd of supporters, Tinubu urged citizens to remain vigilant and carefully assess the claims made by political opponents seeking their votes.

“Be careful, watch them, don’t let them lie to you,” Tinubu said. “What is in the past is the past; fuel subsidy is in our past, no more corruption, no more falsification of invoices, no more lies, no more smuggling of fuel.”

The President defended his administration’s 2023 decision to end the petrol subsidy regime. His remarks come in response to opposition promises, particularly from ADC’s Atiku Abubakar, to restore the subsidy if elected.

CDA News Nigeria reports that Tinubu called on Nigerians to give him another chance to lead, promising a better future and stressing that voters hold the country’s direction.

“Your prosperity is here. Your future is in your hands; your fingerprints will reflect it,” he added.
