UMUAHIA — The Founder of the Abia Good Governance Forum (AGGF), Dr. Charles Ukeagu, has declared President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as having no equal among the contenders for the presidency in the 2027 general election, urging voters to base their choices on governance and performance records rather than political sentiments .
CDA News Nigeria gathered that Dr. Ukeagu made this known in a statement made available to journalists, where he emphasized that the electorate must consider the policy thrust, disposition, and antecedents of candidates before deciding who to vote for . He argued that President Tinubu has made visible interventions across the country and, on the strength of the administration’s achievements, deserves a second tenure.
CDA News Nigeria reports that Dr. Ukeagu also called on voters in Abia State to extend the same performance-based assessment to National Assembly candidates, citing the former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly and APC candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji (Ikuku), as a prime example .
He recalled Orji’s tenure as Speaker, noting that his interventions through the Direct Touch Initiative sought to bring the dividends of democracy closer to the people . Orji won the APC ticket in all 32 wards across the three local government areas during the party primaries.
Dr. Ukeagu described the Abia Good Governance Forum as a platform focused on promoting good governance, responsible leadership, public accountability, and development-oriented politics . He stressed the importance of assessing political leaders by their records, policies, and capacity to deliver democratic dividends as campaigns for 2027 intensify .
