LAGOS, NIGERIA — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday joined Muslim faithful in Lagos to observe Eid-el-Fitr prayers, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
The President participated in the congregational prayers alongside top government officials, religious leaders, and thousands of worshippers who gathered to celebrate the important Islamic festival. The event was held in an atmosphere of peace, reflection, and gratitude.
In his message to Nigerians, Tinubu emphasized the need for unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence among citizens, regardless of religious or ethnic differences. He urged Nigerians to sustain the virtues of sacrifice, discipline, and compassion learned during Ramadan.
The President also called on citizens to remain committed to national development, noting that collective effort and mutual understanding are essential to building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.
Eid-el-Fitr, one of the most significant celebrations in Islam, signifies the end of Ramadan—a period dedicated to fasting, prayer, and acts of charity. Across the country, Muslim faithful marked the occasion with prayers, festivities, and goodwill messages.
Security agencies were also on alert to ensure a peaceful celebration nationwide, with increased presence in major prayer grounds and public spaces
