WASHINGTON DC, USA – Former President Donald Trump has declared that “Cuba is next” in a cryptic warning, while dismissing claims that he is losing support among his core MAGA base ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
Speaking at a rally in Florida on Friday, Trump did not elaborate on his statement about Cuba, but political observers interpreted it as a signal of potential renewed hardline policies toward the island nation should he return to office. The remark came amid heightened US-Iran tensions and ongoing military operations in the Strait of Hormuz.
“We are bringing back strength. We’ve shown them in Iran. And let me tell you, Cuba is next,” Trump told the crowd.
The former president also pushed back against recent polls suggesting a decline in his approval ratings among Republican voters, insisting that the MAGA movement remains stronger than ever.
“They keep saying I’m losing support. It’s fake news. We have the biggest crowds, the strongest movement,” Trump said.
His comments come as the Republican primary season intensifies, with Trump maintaining a significant lead over his challengers despite facing multiple legal battles.
The White House has not commented on Trump’s remarks regarding Cuba.
