Yilwatda, Basiru Return as APC National Chairman, Secretary

ABUJA, NIGERIA – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has retained its national leadership, with Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda returning as National Chairman and Senator Ajibola Basiru as National Secretary, following the party’s national convention held in Abuja on Saturday.

The convention, which drew thousands of delegates from across the country, saw the election of the new National Working Committee (NWC) through a consensus arrangement. The outcome reflected the party’s commitment to unity and continuity as it prepares for the 2027 general elections.

Other NWC members returned or elected include Alhaji Bukar Dalori as Deputy National Chairman (North), Emma Eneukwu as Deputy National Chairman (South), Donatus Nwankpa as National Welfare Secretary, Nze Chidi Duru as Deputy National Organising Secretary, and Barr. Felix Morka as National Publicity Secretary.

In his acceptance speech, Yilwatda thanked party members for their trust and reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to delivering on its promises to Nigerians.

“This is a victory for our great party. We will continue to work tirelessly to advance the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu,” Yilwatda stated.

The convention was attended by President Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, governors, and other party stalwarts.
